"I survived," twelve year-old Andrew Kornfeld gasps as he emerges from the fourth and final round of an intensely-hot sweat lodge during a father/son gathering in the woods near Big Sur. "The sweat is such an elemental mood shared," retreat facilitator David Schiffman said. "I've been changing the name from sweat lodge to dream lodge, because it's a mood of initiation into dreamtime. It's a timeless mood when people are linked to things that are ancient, the dirt, the heat, the prayerful, the circular spirit family and your place in a long line of people who acknowledge these truths," he said.
